How to target the 3 types of search queries

It's always easy to achieve the goal if the target is well-known & marked.

For making blog keywords researchers are normally been emphasised but the basics of the searches are normally been ignored by most of the bloggers resulting in low traffic & less profitability.

Let's first understand how many types of search queries land on your blogs & what is the user's intention.

1 Directional queries

Queries regarding any direction or navigating any place, destination, website & so on.

In these types of queries, the user is sure about the search, for example, the query may be Facebook, Amazon, YouTube, New York or Mastpaisa/Fun Funds (my domain & site).

It's always better to make a target of establishing your own brand to come in the navigational search query.

Maximum queries in a navigational query or fixed still few percentages can be diverted by extending the keyword like "Adsterra an alternate of Google Adsense", "Best Place to visit in New York"

How to target Directional queries

The search engines show the top search results on the front page of any searches hence in navigational searches scope of getting ranking is difficult.

Still, you can target by
1 Establishing your brand
2 Using long-tail keywords
3 Writing review on the established brand
4 Provide additional information about the brand.

I myself targeted Amazon & written 5 blog pages about Amazon, frankly speaking, I'm getting traffic for the keyword Amazon.

2 Informational search query

Exactly opposite to a directional query is an informational search query in which the users are searching for some information or knowledge without having any intention to buy something.

Thousands of search results can be the answers to these types of search queries like how to make money online, how to make a blog, why is the sky blue...

How to target an informational search query?
1 Make a site like Wikipedia full of authentic pieces of information in your field.
Suppose you are in the pharma industry & you know in & out of the industry you can develop the site with full information.
2 Blog posts with exact information & useful tips where your real & unique content is the king to get ranking in thousands of search results.
3 Create a video: Your video should be the exact answer to this query like how to cook rice.
4 Prepare a guide blog giving step-by-step knowledge like

3 Transactional search query

Search queries with the intention to purchase a particular product, to do a booking for example flight to the UK indicate that the searcher is looking for a flight to book.

These types of searches are mainly associated with words like buy, sell, order, and best price...

If you want to sell something these types of query are suitable to complete the deal provided your website have the call for action button like  Buy Now, Make payment etc.

How to target a transactional search query?
Since these types of search queries are bound to gain sales hence they should be targeted on priority to gain business

I suggest placing Google ads and doing keyword research in the Google keyword planner, Google also provides the facility to post the product image in sponsored ads.

These types of searches may be for the local area like a restaurant or hotel search, to target the local search you should make your website indicate contact, address, and phone no. you can make it Google My Business without any expense.

SUM UP
Along with the keyword research, plan your website to target the 3 types of search queries to drive traffic.

  1. This is great advice! I find that a lot of bloggers are confused by the concept of keyword targeting and how to create posts that are not only enjoyable to read, but will also perform well in a search. By looking at it in the way that you have outlined here, thinking about what the reader is actually searching for, you've got a leg up on targeting.
